Zostrix Topical Cream may help to relieve the pain associated with arthritis and postherpetic neuralgia (pain after shingles).
Dosage
Adults and children 2 years of age and older: apply Zostrix to affected area 3 to 4 times daily everyday. Because of the way Zostrix works -pain relief is not immediate. Zostrix is not a heat rub but an analgesic cream that works gradually, so pain relief may take up to 4 weeks. A temporary burning sensation may be experienced. Do not be concerned, this sensation is related to the way Zostrix works and generally diminishes after the first week of continued use. Zostrix can be used with other oral pain medications and it may be used as long as needed.
